Ernie Ball Music Man Stingray Slo Special -SOLD-
Item ID: 34
Availability: Not for Sale
Ernie Ball Musicman Stingray Slo Special bass guitar with the original hardshell case. If you follow my auctions you know I am a huge Stingray fan. I love the treble punch to them and the sculpted low end is a must for a go to bass guitar. The Slo Special is essentially just a stingray with the Sterling neck so the neck is not going to be the bigger rounded profile Stingray sized neck. I am in love with the way it plays, you get all the wonderful tone aspects of a Stingray but I find this neck to be way more comfortable and easier to play. If you have never played one I usually say its like a Ric 4003 as far as the treble tone and the bass tones have this really well defined vintage J bass feel to them. I run mine with a Sans Amp to dirty up the tone and with the active electronics I don't have to worry about noise when I am not playing. The other great thing about this one is the finish, I think this is the limited black magic crystal finish. For the older players out there who know the Fender late 80s finishes, this is just like the awesome dust finish that they were doing on the strat plus models. Instead of having that big grain sparkle they use a much finer dust type finish that gives the finish this incredible depth and textured look. Taking pictures of this one was almost impossible because since it was not played much the finish is still show room glossy reflecting light everywhere so excuse my not so great photos.
Condition is as close to mint as you are going to get unless you go straight to the factory to pick it up. Headstock is clean, frets look like they have no wear, board is mint, no noticeable wear on the front, back of the neck is mint, no wear on the back or sides. Over all for a used guitar it's a 10 out of 10 for condition and playability. When we first got it in I noticed the nut had a crack where the low E string sits so I had eqguitars in Boston seal it back and its perfect.
