1984 Gibson Les Paul Custom Silverburst -SOLD-
Item ID: 20
Availability: Not for Sale
1984 Gibson Les Paul Custom Silverburst with the original hardshell case and all original Tim Shaw Humbuckers! For those of you who follow this site know that some of my favorite Gibsons are LP Standards and Customs from 80-84. Last year I sold around 7 from this era that were very rare and here is another rare one that will only come around a handful of times in a lifetime if you are lucky. I usually chase down any early 80s Gibson with T.S. PAFs because they sound incredible and players are always really happy with them. The Tim Shaw pick ups are the closest pick ups tone wise to some vintage PAFs as far as tone and clarity. I had to really inspect this one and everything checks out, pots, pick ups, and usually these silverburst will age and get almost a greenish appearance but this one has none of that. Another really cool thing about this guitar is check out the sides and back of the headstock, they all have a little burst finish which is such a nice little touch.
The sound is just hands down some of the best pure rock/blues/jazz type tone you will ever hear. This is a whole different animal then the modern LP customs coming out now. If you are looking for a guitar with endless sustain power, here you go.
It all looks original but the saddles look like graphtec ones and the strap buttons have been replaced. Condition is excellent. Headstock is clean, ebony board looks great, frets have some wear but plenty of years are left on them, block inlays mint, front of the body has some light wear around the pick up rings as well as the normal picking scratches and barely visible witness lines, tuners are great and these are the one with the little tuning arms that extend out from the top, neck is mint, back of the body is where most of the wear is with some non playing scratches (about 5 on the treble side and 4 on the bass), a little buckle rash, sides and bottom are clean. Electronics work great with just some slight noise on the bridge volume pot but if you want my tech to clean it up thats no problem (I know some of you players want yourself or your own tech to do work to it)
