1996 Gibson SG Standard 1961 Reissue W/OHSC. You know I am a SG fan when it is the only guitar I have never gotten rid of. I got my first SG Standard in 99 and it still sits by my desk because for me it is my go to guitar. I love the weight distribution on them and how they lay when you are playing standing up. The tone is pure Gibson rock but it can handle anything a Les Paul can do easily. This 61 reissue is no exception, loaded with the nickel hardware and the Classic 57s. Sure you can do AC/DC riffs all day long and that sound is spot on but if you need just one awesome guitar that can cover all the bases this 61 is a fine choice. Neck pick up is warm with that great full humbucker sound and the neck is perfect for any rock type stuff at all.
Condition is good. Headstock has slight wear, nut looks good, original frets have slight wear, board looks great, front of the body has some tiny pinhead sized dings and picking wear, one of the knobs is missing the volume sticker, nickel hardware has some tarnishing but I never clean because I know some of you guys want it like that, back of the neck is mint, back of the body is pretty clean but you can see that one spot on the lower back where the previous owner chipped it and a .5 inch x .5inch little notch was taken out of the wood (showed it to my tech who said it is only cosmetic and doesn't need any repair work done), sides have some wear and dings. I plays it for an hour today and sounds great with no wiring issues. The only thing that does not look original are the saddles. Case is a bit beat but works fine.
