2011 Martin GPCPA1 -SOLD-
Item ID: 56
Availability: Not for Sale
2011 Martin GPCA1 Performing Artist Series acoustic guitar with the Aura system and original Martin hardshell case. I was really excited to get this guitar in, with all the new Taylor high end stuff coming out I wanted to see how this Martin compared and I got to say they did some homework and really did a great job on these GPCA1 models. First thing I noticed is that the tone is a bit different for a Martin with a touch more high end. You still have that unmistakeable Martin sustain, well mixed mids/low, and articulate finger picking that you would expect from a high end Martin. They loaded this model with everything a player could want:
Features
Body size: GP-14 Fret Cutaway
Top: Solid Sitka spruce
Rosette: 2 ring
Back material: Solid East Indian rosewood
Side material: Solid East Indian rosewood
Binding: Solid ovangkol
Neck shape: Performing artist profile
Headstock: Solid/Square Taper
Scale length: 25.4''
Fingerboard width at nut: 1-3/4''
Fingerboard at 12th fret: 2-1/8"
Bridge material: Solid black ebony
Bridge style: Performing artist belly
Tuning machines: Gold enclosed with large buttons
Pickguard: Delmar tortoise color
Case: 370PA Hardshell — brown
Electronics: Fishman F1 Aura
The little touches are outstanding like the MOP inlay work and the binding work is unreal. Great neck profile and doesn't feel as chuncky as some other models so the players out there should enjoy it as much as myself. This is first guitar with that on board Fishman F1 Aura system I have tried and it is really cool how they integrated it in making blending, tuning, etc so easy on the fly.
Condition is mint! The original owner said he played it a handful of times so it has some very light picking scratches on the PG but I doubt you would ever see one of these in such mint shape at any GC or SA. The only thing we noticed was that it had that new guitar smell but it wasn't the usual smell, like fresh tobacco or something but not cigarette smoke or anything close to that off putting. I was a bit confused but Dave at EQ Guitars in Boston knew right away what happened most likely. He said the owner most likely stored it in a room with a cigar box near by. He said to get any odor neutralizer and just put a small amount on a sponge and the put that in a zip lock bak with some holes in it. I kept it in the case for a week and he was right, it did help. Again this guitar does not smell of cigarette smoke or anything close to that. Pictures are of the actual guitar for sale but the video is not and is just so you can get an idea of the tone.
