1985 G&L L2000 USA fretless bass guitar with a hardshell Nash case. This is for sure a bass that you will not see everyday with amazing looks and killer bass tone. This being an early model, everything looks like it was hand done. The sound is punchier than any Fender J or P bass with the active electronics and you can sculpt the tone with pedals without breaking down the tone. Just playing it straight up though you can hear that this has some real big low end and punchy treble almost like a 4001 Ric. It has an ebony board which feels great and you can play as fast as you want. I love the placement of the two humbuckers and you can split them for a classic type of 50s/60s sound. The ash body gives it some nice rich sustain for bends and accents. If you have never tried a fretless let me tell you it is like going back to school but lots of fun while you learn. It really makes you concentrate, great thing is when I switch back to my fretted now I think it has really improved my all around playing.
Condition is great for an almost 27 year old bass. Headstock has some slight wear on it, ebony board looks great, chrome on pick ups have some tarnishing but can clean up easy, front of the body has playing wear on it but nothing out of the ordinary, knobs have some wear, bridge looks awesome, back of the neck looks mint, 3 bolt plate has some tarnishing, back of the body has some pin head sized dings and light buckle rash, back and sides look very clean. Overall this one is an easy 8 out of 10. Electronics are perfect and I have had no problems with them. The pictures are the bass but the video is not, it is just so you can get an idea of the sound.
